For financiers
Underwrite the underserved — without taking the credit risk.
Centirium connects impact financiers, DFIs, and ESG funds with solar installers in Nigeria. A proprietary IoT smart meter enforces repayment through hardware — not credit scores or collateral — making device-secured financing viable for customers traditional lenders cannot reach.
Why financiers choose Centirium
No collateral required
The IoT smart meter is the risk mitigant. It can remotely disconnect the customer's power if a payment is missed and reconnect automatically once payment is received. Financiers do not need to secure collateral from end-users.
No credit scoring
Customers with no formal credit history can be financed. The device — not a credit score — underwrites each installation, opening a market that traditional lending cannot reach.
Portfolio visibility
Every financed device reports real-time telemetry: battery voltage, load, relay state. Financiers see aggregate performance across their entire portfolio from the Centirium platform.
Webhook-driven settlement
Centirium does not process payments. When the financier's own payment processor confirms a repayment, a webhook notifies the platform, which updates the device state accordingly.
Common questions
Does Centirium hold or manage funds?
No. Centirium is the infrastructure layer, not a financial intermediary. Funds flow between the financier and the customer through the payment processor the financier already uses.
What happens if a customer misses a payment?
The smart meter can remotely disconnect the customer's power supply. Once payment is received and confirmed via webhook, the meter reconnects automatically. No manual intervention is needed.
What geographies does Centirium serve?
Nigeria is the initial market. The platform is architected to extend to other emerging markets over time.
